Our Rooms
Ladybirds & Caterpillars (3 months – 24 months)
On our ground floor of the chapel, we have a separate area for babies designed specifically so that even the youngest children in our care are safe and happy.
Care is tailored to the needs of every single baby which is why we ask you to complete a detailed questionnaire so we can follow your home routine as closely as possible.
This continuity of care enables your baby to settle very quickly and with a staff ratio of 1:3, we guarantee there will be lots of love and attention from our highly qualified and caring team.
So that you don’t miss out on what your baby has enjoyed you will receive a daily diary report on our babys days system. The staff in their room will complete a daily diary detailing all the activities they have enjoyed, the meals they have eaten and when they have had a nap and often many photos of their day.
Butterflies Area (24 months – 3 years)
Butterflies are our children who are confident walkers and have started to discover the world around them. They need new challenges so they can explore in a safe and secure setting.
Our Butterflies area is open plan just next to our babies and offers areas of learning to support the development of children. Although our dedicated team organise plenty of focused activities, which enable them to evaluate the progress of each child in their care, there are also plenty of opportunities in the room to choose what children would like to do, too.
As required by the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, the team carry out daily observations to assess each child’s progress against the prescribed learning goals and put together action plans and individual learning strategies to help them develop the skills he/she needs.
A nursery routine is followed and every day they will enjoy breakfast, circle time, a range of child-led and staff-led activities, lunch, rest, and more activities.
Children can also enjoy plenty of fun in the safe and secure garden. If they need a nap after lunch, there is a quiet area where they can rest on sleeping mats.
As your child is likely to be toilet training at this age, we have en-suite toilet and changing area that allows an easy transition from nappy to toilet.
You will receive a communication of what your child has done at the nursery in the room each day. This will be communicated through our babys days system and also be shared photos of their time during the day.
Bumblebees (Pre-School Room) (3 – 5 Years)
The first floor of the chapel is dedicated to our Bumblebees, which is our Pre-School. They have a open plan setup providing them each of the learning and development opportunities to chose and explore. The children on the floor have en-suite children toilets and washing facilities to develop their self care routines. The staff : children ratio of 1:8 is maintained on the floor and we work very closely with each child and emphasise learning through play.
Throughout the day, children can busy themselves at the mark making table, art and craft trolley, maths and science areas and role play all of which develop essential skills.
We welcome some very special guests throughout the year, including the police, fire service, dentists and nurses. A local farm and rescue center may also brings in small animals, reptiles and birds during the year. To support their learning and understanding, we take the children on supervised trips to the local supermarket, park and high street.
And as a way of encouraging children to be an independent as possible, they serve and feed themselves, choose their own snack, help set up and tidy away activities, and independently use the toilet.
When your child moves to school, we send completed transition documents so that the school can see the stage at which he/she is at and a learning journey profile, which has a detailed history of your child’s learning.
